Note: This page contains general information about Rush. For information on specific events, see the "Upcoming Events" on the left side of the page, or see the Pikes Illustrated attached at the bottom of this page.
The six week period at Rose-Hulman known as Rush presents all freshmen with the opportunity to learn about Fraternity life and meet tons of new people. Rush provides hundreds of freshmen each year with great new friends and experiences, and many find themselves coming out of Rush with bonds of brotherhood that last a lifetime.
Even for those unsure of their own desire to join a Fraternity, Rush acts as an excellent time for freshmen to learn about Fraternity life at Rose-Hulman and to meet the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha. During the course of Rush there are many Fraternity sponsored events that allow you to have fun while getting to know the brothers of Pike better. Be sure to head out to all of the rush events we have on our calendar.
The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha strongly uphold a core set of qualities referred to as SLAG. Pikes are excellent Scholars, and our chapter continues to maintain the highest academic GPA of not only all Fraternities but also above the entire men's average at Rose-Hulman. Pike brothers are Leaders, and are not only active in many organizations on campus, but also hold leadership positions in clubs, student government, and carry leadership skills to other positions outside of the campus. The men of Pi Kappa Alpha are Athletes, exemplified by winning Overall Intramurals in 2007-2011, the Greek Games Trophy in 2011, and by having brothers active in Football, Cross Country, Swimming and Track and Field. Finally, Pi Kappa Alpha brothers are Gentlemen, respecting others at all times.
The Iota Delta chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha continues to be one of the top Pike chapters around the country. In the summers of 2008 & 2009, we received the national Fraternity's Robert Adger Smythe Award, presented to the top 5% of the chapters in the nation. Also, we have been named a National Chapter of Excellence and earned a Scholarship Plate every year our chapter has been in exestance. Also in the summer of 2008, our house was named House of the Year for continued work on the improvement of our house and grounds. We recently completed the a remodel of Alden hall expanding our capacity to house 80 brothers.
