April 23rd, 2016 marked the 9th annual Fire Truck Pull – an event in which teams race to pull a fire truck 100 feet in support of Special Olympics Indiana.
Tyler Whitehouse planned the event in conjunction with Rodney Lockman, and Tanner Shipman from Indiana State University (Theta Omicron Chapter). Together, our chapters collected donations, raised awareness, and organized the food and entertainment.
All the hard work paid off. Not only did the event go smoothly, but this was the first year we raised over $10,000 for the cause. In addition to that, Pikes International’s Executive Vice-President/CEO Justin Buck was there to witness (and take part) in the festivities.
Overall, this year’s Fire Truck Pull brought our two chapters closer together, demonstrated Pike’s involvement in the community, and provided much needed funds to a worthy cause.
