01/26/08 - 50's Grill13 viewsMy grandma and uncle drove down this weekend to visit (and to escape the harsh cold of Northern Minnesota). For dinner, we all went out to the 50's Grill in Brooklyn Center, MN. Pretty neat place if you're ever in the area.

19 viewsLeaving for St. Louis, there was a huge plume of smoke just west of Terre-Haute. I never figured out what it was.

01/25/08 - The Return14 viewsToday, I flew back to Minneapolis from Indianapolis. One of the cool parts about this flight is the view of Lake Michigan. Above, the ice breaks out on the lake.

02/22/06 - So Long and Thanks for all the...40 viewsToday, I spent my last full day in Terre-Haute for a very long time to come. Tomorrow I leave for back home, and after quarter break, I will start my trek across the US (let me know if you want a postcard)! It's been tough to say goodbye to all the people and memories...and I know it's going to be a tougher after comencement. Above is one of my favorite shots of the Pike grounds...at least I can rest easy knowing I made the best of it all. Thanks everyone, for an awesome 3 and a half years!

Lewis and Clark National Forest4 viewsWe came across a huge section of recently-burned forest. It was really eerie for two reasons: 1. all of the branch-less, monolithic burnt trees as far as the eye could see and 2. aside from some grass and moss, there was not a single living thing (bug or otherwise) in sight or sound.Jun 22, 2009
