01/31/09 - Back in Minnesota85 viewsI snapped this picture upon my return to Minnesota...it's pretty bleak. The temperature wouldn't be so bad if we actually had a decent amount of snow...

01/30/09 - The Flight Back44 viewsA view of Hispanola on my flight back to mainland...it's an impressive sight if you can actually make it out...1 comments

01/29/09 - Puerto Rico at Night85 viewsI was sent back down to Puerto Rico again for work. The temperature and views here are much more spectacular than Minnesota in January, so I was definitely happy to come.

01/19/09 - Windows 7204 viewsToday, I succumbed to all the hype floating around the Windows 7 beta, so I downloaded and installed a copy. It's pretty much like Vista, except Microsoft lightened the graphics load a bit, and it doesn't take so freaking long to start up/shut down. I definitely like it more than Vista, but still can't decide yet whether or not to stick to XP. A little more testing time will tell, I guess...4 comments

01/11/09 - The Eiger31 viewsUnfortunately, I had to extend my trip to Switzerland to continue running some tests. This included working on Saturday, ugh. However, I did manage to get out on Sunday to visit the famous Eiger mountain (pictured above at the left, with the Monch off to the right). I took a tram up to Kliene Scheidegg where I shot this picture, enjoyed a nice lunch at a nearby chalet, and people-watched a bunch of skiers in the area.24 comments

01/10/08 - La Neuveville54 viewsHere's a shot of downtown La Neuveville. Most of the towns in this area have an old Medieval town center surrounded by a (once) protective city wall. However, once outside the wall, the city looks like any other modern city/suburb, with new buildings/storefronts/shops/etc. It's like stepping through time. Coolio.

01/08/09 - Shaggy168 viewsWork has been extremely busy testing/evaluating automation equipment, and I haven't had time yet to go out and buy a razor to shave with (mine having been confiscated by the TSA back in Minneapolis). This is what my 10 beard looks like, hopefully I'll get around to getting rid of it soon; it is quite itchy.1 comments

01/06/08 - The view from the JJ Rouseau126 viewsI'm spending the week in the JJ Rouseau Hotel in La Neuveville, Switzerland. On the banks of the Lac de Bienne, this place looks like it mostly services summertime boating holiday customers, but it's quite quit this time of year. Above is a shot of the lake from my room.

01/04/09 - The Chillon126 viewsI arrived in Switzerland on a Sunday, where virtually nothing (including my hotel until 4:00pm) was open. I decided to kill some time by visiting the Chillon Castle, in Montreux. The temperature was a balmy -5C, which made those stone walls VERY cold.

01/03/09 - Leaving on a Jet Plane (to Switzerland)10 viewsI left today on a trip to Switzerland to evaluate some automation equipment from a Swiss vendor my company occasionally works with. Above, downtown Minneapolis can be seen in the far horizon as I wait for my plane to arrive.
